Hound Parish Council is a group of unpaid public servants. Council meetings are held on the first Monday of the month, except when a Bank Holiday falls on a Monday and the meeting is deferred to the Tuesday immediately afterwards. This is when Members discuss and plan for the parish's future. If you would like to consider becoming a Councillor and having direct influence over your environment, then please contact the Parish Clerk.
Hound Parish Council owns and manages Abbey Hall, Victoria Road, Netley Abbey and Hound Parish Hall, Woolston Road, Butlocks Heath. In addition, the parish council also has responsibility for Butlocks Heath, the Cricket Field, Station Road and King George V Playing Field recreation grounds. The recreation grounds are provided for the enjoyment of parishioners and visitors, but are also used for sports activities. Currently football and rugby league are played at these recreation grounds, but may also be hired for other organised sports use. Please enquire at the Parish Office for further information and costs.
Two allotment sites are also available, at Priory Road in Netley Abbey and Heath Gardens, Butlocks Heath. Although there are waiting lists for both sites, please contact the Parish Office staff if you wish to add your name to the lists.
The Burial Ground adjacent to St Mary the Virgin church is also provided by Hound Parish Council, which maintains the churchyard area on behalf of the Parochial Church Council.
A Sea Scout unit leases the Boat House from Hound Parish Council, which also owns the Hard and viewing area adjacent to the entrance to the Royal Victoria Country Park. This is a lovely spot to view the cruise liners arriving and departing from Southampton.
